A Message from Brice Willoughby

You probably know my wife as Representative Julie Willoughby.

At home, she’s simply Julie—my wife, the mother of our two children, and the person who carries the stories of the people she serves long after the workday ends. I’ve watched her sit at our kitchen table late at night, still searching for an answer or worrying about a family who came to her for help.

That’s the Julie I wish everyone could see.

Long before she entered public office, Julie was an emergency room trauma nurse. She spent years caring for people on some of the most frightening days of their lives. That experience taught her to listen, remain calm under pressure, and make difficult decisions when the stakes are high.

She brought those same qualities to the State Capitol.

I’ve watched her fight through government bureaucracy to help families get answers. I’ve seen her frustrated when the system fails the people it is supposed to serve. And I’ve watched her refuse to let an issue go because she knows there is a real person on the other side of every policy decision.

When someone asks Julie for help, she doesn’t first see a Republican, Democrat, or Independent. She sees a neighbor.

During her time in office, Julie has worked to protect children, strengthen healthcare, improve public safety, support people with developmental disabilities, and make government more accountable. She has expanded access to care, supported nurses and healthcare providers, and fought to protect vulnerable children and victims from exploitation and further harm.

I’m proud of those accomplishments—but as her husband, I’m even prouder of why she does this work.

Public service asks a great deal of her. There are long days, late-night calls, missed dinners, and plenty of criticism. Then she comes home and is still Mom—helping with homework, handling family responsibilities, and making sure our children feel loved and supported.

Julie isn’t perfect, and she would be the first to admit that. But I can tell you something no campaign mailer ever could: she cares deeply, she works incredibly hard, and when she tells you she will fight for something, she means it.

I see how seriously she takes the trust you have placed in her. I see the nurse who wants to help, the mom who wants our children to inherit a better Arizona, and the neighbor who believes every person deserves to be heard.

I’m incredibly proud of my wife, and I’m grateful that the Julie I know at home is the same Julie who shows up every day to represent you.

Thank you for trusting our family with that responsibility. It means more to us than you probably realize.

Sincerely,

Brice Willoughby

Julie’s Husband
