By asking for your vote, I am asking you to believe in me; to put your faith in me. So I think it’s important that I share my “Why.”
My husband Brice and I have a two wonderful children. We are like many of you - a happy growing family living in the present but with a careful eye on the future. We moved our family to Chandler over 5 years ago because it offered everything we wanted for our family - lots of young active parents, safe communities, and plenty of parks all wrapped up in a lovely, family-friendly vibe. We were thrilled to be part of such a wonderful city!
Once we got settled in, we started considering the bigger questions. How do we ensure our family’s safety? How do we safeguard our access to the best possible education for our children? How do we protect our family business so that it continues to flourish and grow? These important questions and many others led Brice and I to a discussion about how we could become more vocal and involved. Always avid voters, we were keenly aware that every vote counts, but what about the things that don’t end up on a ballot? How can we raise our voice for ALL issues that impact our family and so many others?
After much discussion, soul-searching and prayer, the answer was crystal clear to both of us - we would run for the legislature, to protect the future of our family and yours. Brice and I have no doubt that this is the path God had planned for us all along, and we couldn’t be more excited to enter this new chapter of public service.

In her role as a ER trauma nurse, Julie leverages her ability to remain quick and level-headed under intense pressure. This career also relies heavily on her creative problem solving and rational thinking skills - all of which will serve her well in the House.
Despite the demands of her career and family, Julie donates time to her local church, and consistently gives back in the form of community service. In serving her community, Julie learned firsthand just how much government impacts our quality of life. She embraces that fact with her belief that “With a staunch commitment to my faith, my family and community I can make a positive impact on the future.”
Julie graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and holds multiple professional certifications that have enhanced her skills. In addition to being a trauma nurse and a person who consistently gives back to bolster her community, Julie is also honored to call herself a Christian, mother, wife and Republican.

Julie Willoughby sworn in as House of Representative
Representative Julie Willoughby's first year in service
In Julie's first year of service she was able to successful pass 5 bills out of the House and Senate and received the Governor's signature on 4 of those 5. In addition, she was able to pass a House Resolution honoring the passing of a local precinct committeeman and past legislative district Chairman. Julie was also successful in passing a House Concurrent Memorial which requires a similar amount of work to move through the chambers as a bill, but does not require the governor to sign. This shows Julie's commitment to the people she represents by having a strong work ethic and unwavering dedication to the passage of a bill. She worked with many individuals to ensure the good legislation she brought forward would have postive impacts to the state of Arizona. By looking to solve a problem without creating any new problems, Julie has been successful in the first year of her services and is honored to continue the work necessary to pass future legislation that will continue to bring positive change to the state.
