Julie Willoughby is a Christian, wife, mother, ER trauma nurse, and small business owner who believes public service should put people before politics. She represents Legislative District 13 in the Arizona House and is now running for State Senate to continue helping Arizona families.
Experience in Critical Decision-Making
As a registered nurse, Julie has spent more than a decade in trauma emergency medicine, where staying calm under pressure, making split-second decisions, and solving complex problems is part of her every day. That experience, along with her work in healthcare leadership roles, has strengthened her belief that Arizona needs more front-line workers at the table.
Julie is a proud graduate of Arizona’s higher education system. She earned her nursing degrees through Gateway Community College and Arizona State University and later completed a Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis on leadership and management. She also holds multiple professional certifications in her field.
Proven Leadership for Arizona
Julie currently serves as the Majority Whip in the Arizona House, where she focuses on the challenges Arizona families and communities face every day. By serving on key committees—including Appropriations, Judiciary, and Health and Human Services—she directly influences state spending, public healthcare, and the rule of law. Julie approaches her work at the State Capitol with the same practical, team approach to problem-solving that she relies on in her career in healthcare.
A Commitment to Faith, Family, and Community
Despite the demands of her career and public service, Julie remains deeply rooted in faith, family, and community. She is active in her local church and donates her time through community service, where she has seen firsthand how government decisions shape quality of life. Grounded in her Christian faith and conservative values, she believes that by putting faith, family, and community first, Arizona can build a safer, stronger future.
